About Ascensions

Ascensions Child Development Program LLC is a vibrant learning center continually expanding its reach. Currently operating at one location with five classrooms, we cater to students aged 8 weeks through to 12 years. Our goal is to provide families in Lane, Linn, and Benton Counties with the top-quality care they deserve. 

Ascensions was founded by BethAny L. Freimuth, who began her child care journey as a nanny right here in Junction City, OR. With over 23 years of professional experience across various child care roles, we've grown into the reputable center we proudly offer today.

Teacher

Aide II

As a Child Care Aide at Ascensions Child Development Program, you'll support teachers, maintain a safe environment, implement curriculum, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for parents and children.

Responsibilities also include snack preparation, reporting concerns, and adhering to policies. Aide II position may involve short-term teacher substitution and overseeing the center’s opening and closing.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Familiarizing yourself with the mission and vision of Ascensions and ensure that all of our goals are met.

  • Helping teachers perform all aspects of their job and assist with additional tasks, such as preparing snacks and activities.

  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment for the children, clients and employees.

  • Greeting all parents and children with a smile and enthusiasm.

  • Teaching an age-appropriate curriculum with the approval of the teacher or head teacher, using a schedule that includes all necessary activities for the children.

  • Child safety is your top priority, promptly report any concerns to the appropriate team members

Additional Responsibilities for Aide II:

  • Substituting for the teacher in the primary group: Limited to two consecutive weeks, with notification to DELC and a plan in place for classroom management by the director.

  • Ensuring the center is properly opened and/or closed, including thorough checks to confirm all doors are securely shut and locked.

Float Teacher

As a Float Teacher at Ascensions Child Development Program, you'll assist lead teachers in creating a safe environment for children, supporting curriculum implementation, and fostering positive interactions. Collaboration with colleagues, upholding organizational values, and ensuring reliability are essential.

Additional duties may include snack preparation, reporting concerns, and assisting with classroom management.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Familiarizing yourself with the mission and vision of Ascensions and ensure that all of our goals are met.

  • Helping teachers perform all aspects of their job and assist with additional tasks, such as preparing snacks and activities.

  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment for the children, clients and employees.

  • Greeting all parents and children with a smile and enthusiasm.

  • Teaching an age-appropriate curriculum with the approval of the teacher or head teacher, using a schedule that includes all necessary activities for the children.

  • Child safety is your top priority, promptly report any concerns to the appropriate team members

  • Ensuring the center is secure and entry points are locked at the end of each day.
